While I will still be braving the cold to teach yoga today, many of you likely have the day off of work and the time to cook so I thought it fitting to write about my new favorite go-to soup recipe for you to try out.

Here is a healthy, easy, seasonal recipe of mine that I just love. It helps quell those pesky sweet cravings - at a time of year where sugar seems to be temping us everywhere. Did you know that eating root vegetables can be calming and grounding? Give it a try and see if it works for you! Oh and the beautiful vibrant color can be quite cheery. Do be careful where you cut the beets as they do tend do stain.
Aligning with the seasons - Moving into fall...
Last night was the first time I heard the familiar yet nearly forgotten hiss and grumble of the heat in my apartment, as it was the first night cool enough for it to be turned on this season. It squashed my hopes of an Indian Summer (ok, my fingers are still crossed since my neighbor told me true Indian Summer is when it warms up after the first frost of the year, this is an unconfirmed fact but it does give me hope) and assured me that Fall has in fact arrived here in NYC.
